The 'Made in Singapore' Manhunt competition is 20-years old this year. From its humble beginning in 1988 with just over a hundred contestants, the competition has grown by leaps and bounds with thousands of Singaporean men coming forward to make it big in the local and international scene. Some celebrities that the contest has produced include past winner Benedict Goh, and finalists Ix Shen and Tay Ping Hui, who have captured our hearts on television as Mediacorp celebrities. In fact, some of the most appealing Singaporean male models and celebrities have been discovered through this search, which has been undoubtedly Singapore’s longest-lasting male competition. This yearwas no exception. With brawns, brains and attractive good looks, the 15 finalistswere at their best to out-do each other to be Singapore’s 20th Manhunt winner. The grand finals were held at The Heeren Shops, wherea S$32,000 cash and prize booty awaited him and his peers, including gifts and prizes from Cerutti 1881, California Fitness Clubs, Everlast boxing apparel, ODM watches, Lab Series Skincare For Men, Sean Jean fragrance hampers and much more. The makers of Manhunt also tied up with Lab Series Skincare For Men, who named the new Manhunt winner as their spokesperson for the upcoming year. He will be their new brand ambassador, taking over from previous winners Amos Boon (national footballer) and Nick Shen (Mediacorp Artiste). Later this year, he competed with 60 other lads in the 11th Manhunt International 2008 competition held in Korea where more than US$100,000 in cash, prizes and modeling contracts awaited the eventual winner.
